About Anita’s Film Festival
Anita’s Film Festival is a Miami-based queer film festival dedicated to showcasing emerging LGBTQ filmmakers and bold new voices in independent cinema.
Cheekily named after anti-gay activist Anita Bryant, whose 1977 “Save Our Children” campaign began in Miami, the festival reclaims her legacy by transforming a symbol of exclusion into a platform for queer storytelling, visibility, and cultural resistance.
